Hi! I'm applying to BCC for fall 2014 and am looking to see if there is anyone else out there doing the same. My application is in and I am taking the TEAS test this weekend - so nervous! Don't know what to expect. Any insight?
XLycky7X, I don't understand why you feel that way. Some of us aren't just taking our prerequisites we are working toward a degree as well. When you work toward a degree (especially science) you need to take many more science (and other) classes so it just works out this way. In my case, I am graduating in June with a science-transfer degree, and I'm taking chemistry as my last class for graduation. Just because someone may be in progress of a class that is a required prerequisite, doesn't mean that they aren't eligible for the program. Many people have more than what is even required of them, and that could make them even more desirable than someone that has just has completed the minimally required classes.
I also think that everyone working toward getting into a nursing program works so incredibly hard, and it can be a super frustrating process. We all know this from our own experiences and we are all in this together. I wish everyone the best of luck no matter how far they've come in completing the courses. I'm sure the review panel takes a lot of things into consideration and they will pick the people that are the best fit. If I don't get in, I'm am happy for whoever does, but I'm hoping we ALL get in! lol :)
BH might still be accepting application, Lexbeex! I'm not sure how it works, but I don't think they wait to decide. I'm sure the most qualified applicants with everything complete are accepted first. I asked if I still had a chance, and she said absolutely, we will be waiting for your transcript as soon as grades close. Maybe there is a second round? I really have no idea, but at least it sounded somewhat promising :)
Sorry Mallygirl I wasn't trying to offend you. That's just my opinion. If something that is required is not finished before the application deadline, that person should have to wait until next year to apply. I've never heard of BCC pending applications until spring classes are done. I too wish everyone luck and once again sorry if I offended you but that's just how I feel.
Thanks mallygirl for the info, I may look into applying there just to have a back up!
I don't know about you guys but I have heard from a lot of people each year that if they apply to more than one school BCC tends to be the last one they hear from. Have you guys heard that also? I wish I would have considered applying other places prior to this year but I was too stubborn.
However, these next two weeks I have a ton of studying to do for exams in all my three classes so hopefully that will help to keep my mind occupied for a little. Oh who am I kidding I will still be going crazy lol!
