Bristol Community College (BCC) Nursing 2021

Published

Hi all,

I wanted to create this thread for students applying to BCC's program for Fall 2021. How are things going for everyone in the current climate? Please feel free to share your thoughts, experiences, etc. Former/current students, do you have any insight to share?

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Where else did you apply?

They are very expensive, so is Brockton. But if I don't get into BCC, I need a backup plan. I need to be an RN like yesterday.

I hear that ???????

Since you are talking about money

Just a heads up, make sure you put some money aside for 1st semester books and your uniforms. Last semester between books and uniforms I spent about $950. And that is with some books used ?

Unfortunately, that seems to be pretty universal across the board for most schools I've seen locally

Thank you! I do have all of my friends books from bcc except for any Ebooks she had to get.  I know books change , but at least I have something. We have a "nursing school savings " just for this reason!

I don't know if I will sell them all but I will keep that in mind ?

Classes are good, I am eHealth so I don't have a specific day. It is kind of your own time. Traditional meets on Mondays and exams are also on Mondays so it makes a long day for them sometimes!

Clinical/Lab is split 1st semester so you will have 1 or 2 days of lab each week for 10 weeks I think and then 1 or 2 days of clinical for the last 4 weeks. It should add up 12 hours a week and they can be any day but Sunday or Monday. You cannot switch unless you have a religious or military obligation.

With covid it has been a little hectic trying to get clinicals so we have a lot of virtual clinicals this semester for OB/Peds

Hope that helps!

Wow that’s very cool!

Are you able to get into any hospital this semester? I feel bad for all of you!
