Bristol Community College (BCC) Nursing 2020

Hello everyone! I am creating this forum in hopes to connect with other pre-nursing students who will be applying into BCC's program for Fall of 2020! What are your grades and TEAS scores? Also, current/former students, do you have any advice or insight on the program?

@CourtTonetto94 Hi Court, do you know what month was your orientation? It is during Summer correct? I’m wondering what months I need to be available because I was going to book a vacation this Summer.

Hi! Our orientation was in the first week of May. It will still during the Spring semester.

Clinical scrubs are also like a charcoal gray. They aren't so bad!

@CourtTonetto94 What was your first semester like? Did you guys jump right into clinical the first week? I took a peek at the course search for last fall and they list so many days for Nurs 101. Did you have class+clinicals everyday including weekends? 12 hour days?

From what my coworker in the program said it is one 12hr day a week, but it could be any day.

Usually its every Monday (for example) while you do one clinical rotation. Then it could be every Wednesday for the next rotation

How many “rotations” are there for the first semester? Someone told me it was 6 weeks of clinical (whatever day you are assigned which could be (1) 12 hour day or (2) 6 hour days) then the rest of the semester was only in the lab.

So first semester you will have “clinical” all semester. But the first 6/7 weeks will be simulation lab to learn basic skills. They count lab as clinical so full uniform and equipment. Then once you are all signed off and completed the lab weeks you will have clinical at your assigned facility. I can’t remember if we started going to our placements the week before or after Halloween. You either get 2, 6 hour shifts or 1 12 hour shift.

Also it could be any day during the week. Even Saturday and Sunday’s.

Hey everyone! I applied when the application opened with a gpa of 4.0 for the pre requisites. I don't even wanna talk about my TEAS but did good enough. Did anyone else apply to other programs? Also what did you guys choose as your number one choice, the traditional or elearning option? Good luck to everyone and so nice to have found this discussion.

I applied to traditional. I asked if I could put down hybrid as my 2nd choice but admissions and my advisor said they choose them at the same time. So I really have no other 2nd choices lol.

Nice. I applied for the hybrid. I did my application online and it did have me choose a second choice haha. I called twice to make sure BCC got everything they needed.

Yeah I applied to BHSON and Massasoit. I've ruled myself out of Massasoit already though. Did you apply to any other schools?
