Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

I am currently having my bridging program now at IHNA in Melbourne. It's a bit tough for me since everything is new and the health care system is completely different. For those who will be going to IHNA, all professors are fantastic and very intelligent. Make sure you study and practice before you leave.

Thanks for the information. I'm also for IHNA intake..

That's really great mapie87! Do you have other work experiences besides the 1 year hosp experience (and did they ask for it?) Or are you a fresh grad/first courser and this was your first job? You see, I'm a second courser and my other work experience was not even related to nursing. Thanks.

I don't have any other nursing related exp.. and my one-yr-exp was like 3yrs ago already..just try applying..

Hi lani_g85

You paid for 100$ application fee when you applied for Mercy Health?

Thank you in advance! :)

Hi molly_molly,

Yes, I paid the $100 through credit card. Good thing I passed their interview. My money did not get wasted.

Will try my luck as welll. Been trying to find BP schools as I just got my LOE a week ago.

Tried sending my application to AAON and Castlemaine but no reply so far.

I reserved an August slot for Alpine Health though, they will still schedule me for interview.

It's kind of tough to get into bp schools nowadays..

May I know the intake dates of Mercy Health?

Big thanks!
