Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

Hi YuanC, have you heard any feedback about CQU or SCU bridging program. Please let me know. Thanks.

Hi dear. SCU intake is in their website. It's April intake but i think we have to come on March. CQU is March intake I guess (not sure though). I am eyeing Monash because they have intake for February and that's 5-week online which we can do even if we are in PH.

Any feedback for Monash? How hard it is? Are they failing the students? :)

Did anyone from ACN's waiting list got a letter of offer for Nov.19 2018 EPIQ intake?Would be nice to know some possible classmates beforehand :)

May i ask anyone in here who knows if schools are accepting students who will undergo bridging program who are pregnant?

I don't think they will discriminate on pregnant applicants for bridging, but you have to call them and explain your situation so they can better advise you on what to do. In the placement form I remember them asking this "Whether or not you are pregnant (this information is required by the health facilities)". If I have to guess, its more of an immigration(VISA) issue than institution.

I got this from another forum:

"Your being pregnant won't affect your eligibility for a Student visa however you will be expected to meet all attendance requirements for your course and your visa will be cancelled if you fail to do so. Your pregnancy could also affect your Student visa application if you are required to have a chest xray (because of your country of origin or if you intend giving birth in an Australian hospital), and are unable to do so.

You will not be able to get any health insurance to cover the pregnancy and birth if you are already pregnant and if the child is born in Australia, your hospital and medical expenses will be very high. An uncomplicated birth will be in excess of $5000-$10000 and considerably more if there are any problems before, during or after the birth.

Your child will have no claim to Australian citizenship and will require a passport from your country and a visa"

Try to find an OSHC(Overseas student health cover) that accepts people who are pregnant already. Also an Evidence that you have sufficient funds for your school, living expenses including the baby(Childcare arrangements and funds for it) are required too.

ALso maybe this can help Important Issues Of Pregnancy While You Study In Australia

Hello! I have got the referral letter in January. I am planning to apply in ACN too. I have registered the interest, but have not received the application yet. The course dates shows first cohort has commenced. Hope they send the applications. BTW, where are you located?

Hi @Jisha C I am in the middle east now working as a staff nurse. Did you ever receive a letter from ACN? I don’t have any updates till now. And all schools which I have inquired were not accepting students anymore.

Yes! Last week I received the application via Email. I have filled and sent.

@EdsHave you tried calling at the landline of the ACN?

@Jisha C I didn’t try to call their landline. Glad to hear you’d got the application form already. From where are you btw?
