Bridging Program in Australia

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

Hi Ge311,

How long does it take for you to get an offer from ACFE? I submitted my application since 27th Feb, Til now no reply at all. Please share with me your experience. Many thanks!

Hi! Well I applied thru agency here in the philippines and ACFE is one of their partners so i received the offer of interview less than a week from the time i submitted my application. I paid 250AUD for application fee then after I think a week, I received the letter of offer. Have you already received your offer? I'll be on june 4, 2018 intake but still waiting for the visa approval. Hope everything goes well. I also did quantiferon tb-gold testing here and resulted negative..

Positive PPD results are expected if coming from countries with high incidence of TB, plus given the fact that our profession puts us in an environment where exposure is normal. However, if your chest x-ray is given a clear reading, there should be no problem.

PPD Skin Test (Tuberculosis Test)

If that doesn't settle your mind or you're required to undergo prophylaxis, there is still enough time for prophylaxis treatment which usually last for 3 months. If you're from the Philippines, you can visit your nearest city or municipal health clinic/center and inquire about the Philhealth TB-DOTS Program.

Thank you so much for the info cucci, BSN, RN. I did serum quantiferon and resulted negative. Now I'm waiting for my visa approval. Hope everything will be okay..

With regards to immunization, i have a medical certificate that had taken hepa b booster and a serology result but it was on 2014. Can i use it as a proof? Or do i need to undergo a laboratory examination again? Thank you

That should be fine. I don't know how strict the State of Victoria is but as I was going over my vaccination records, I just realized that my anti-HBs serology was less than 10 mIU/mL even after 2 HepB vax rounds and 2 boosters but it was not questioned.

A new anti-HBs and anti-HBc serologies would be advisable to check again if you have been exposed and see if your immunity is ok, but this is more for your peace of mind.

Hi! Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I did not receive any offer from ACFE, so I will be going to ETEA in June instead. All the best to you!
