Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

to junie, yes i just received my visa last wednesday. I applied via online. It was fast...You can apply your visa now even if you have not yet finished all your immunizations. But be sure you'll have them ready before clinicals.

Hi Micaela35,

how long you have been waited for your Visa ? since you lodged your Visa application??

thank you for your reply in advance!

Hi! Im Laraine, newbie here. :)

Im a Filipino registered nurse but currently working here in Singapore for more than 3 years already. I want to move to Australia. I took my IELTS exam 2 weeks ago and am thankful that i got the grades that i need. Next is the APHRA, right? i just want to get some info on the aphra application since i'm a bit lost of all the requirements needed. I hope somebody can roughly let me know what documents do i need to comply. I have all my school records with me but they are all dated 2010. Will it be fine?

and about 2 months ago, i emailed DEAKINS university in Melbourne to ask for the fees for the bridging course and i was told its about approximately 12500 AUD. is it really around that much or are there any schools that offers cheaper bridging course fees.. am a bit tight with m budget this time.

IELTS. next is APHRA. then BRIDGING COURSE. am i on the right track? :)

and i have my multiple entry tourist visa for australia valid until dec 2014. can i still use it just in case everything goes well for my bridging course or do i need to get another like student visa if there is such a thing? am going back to melbourne this may so i am also planning to pass by deakins university so i can also check with them some other queries.

I hope someone can give me some insights for my case here. thank you so much. :)

Heaps of requirements, the fees are already in the application form. I can send you the full requirements.

Hi Noveau. :) sorry to butt in. will it be possible to ask whether you can inform me also of all the requirements that i will need for the APHRA Application? i need to know so i can gather them on the earliest time possible because i am currently not in PH. i will really appreciate all the help i can get.

thank you!

Hi fellas! :)

Good day to all!

I was just wondering with regards to the SKILLED VISA 189 (Independent) Application, does it matter if I will apply onshore (Aus.) or offshore (Philippines)? Is there an advantage on "processing time" if I will choose either of the two?. Thank you so much in advance. :)

Note: The person had already received a "letter of invitation" from immigration and had also received the letter of eligibility from ANMC.

I got accepted for the June 16 intake in ACN.. Can you give me tips ahead of time on how is the Bridging Program in ACN? Were you able to get your visa on time before the intake starts? And regarding the visa application, is medical really asked for before it gets approved? How long the process took? And possible requirements that I need to prepare? Thanks!!

Hello Everyone. I just got accepted for June Intake in Australian College of Nursing in NSW. Would anyone here be my future classmate? Would be nice to apply and know someone ahead of time. Thanks!

The type of visa you would need to apply for is determined by the bridging course provider. For ACN, you are required to apply for subclass 600 business stream. Good luck! =)

Dear Angel,

I have just received my Offer Letter from ACN in NSW today. I am going to start my applications for Visa. How long does this usually take? Cause Im worried I might not make it in time before school starts on June 16. Thanks

VISA APP - download and fillup the form 1415. Instructions are there and are simple to follow as well as the required documents. Additional docs you may include are ACNs offer letter, bank certificate, AFP criminal check, NBI, TOR, Diploma, Board Cert, IELTS. Notarize every document photocopy. Manager's check for the visa fee. Keep everything in order. Call VIA manila or cebu to pick up docs (in long brown envelop with required label) and follow instructions - 1 to 3 days. Wait for medical HAP ID/forms to be emailed by embassy - 5-15 days. Call nationwide/or other accredited clinics for appointment when you receive you HAP ID (the sooner the better since accredited clinics tend to be booked for days to weeks). finish medicals and follow up regularly with them about the status of your medical results if they have been forwarded to the embassy - 5 to 10 days. Wait for email on embassy decision - 1 to 2 days after medical results are received by your case officer. Copy of visa grant will be emailed. Hard copy will be posted - 2-3 days.

tip: barring any health issues, a medical exam notice is almost an approval of sorts. Suggest you look and book for plane tickets as they tend to sky rocket or worse ran out as the date of classes nears.

anyone here for the LTU intake this june?are your vaccines already done?
