I wanted to start a thread for everyone applying to Baton Rouge Community College’s ASN program in January 2021 for the Fall 2021/Spring 2022 admissions cycle. Hopefully this way, we can all communicate as the process begins and keep updated on the process as we go through this semester. Also, we can provide our stats as we get accepted/denied so that we have a metric for who got in and our placement and just be a support group for each other!

I am so glad that the TEAS is over. I scored an 84% and I am finishing up 2 of my pre-reqs right now. I currently have a 3.44 GPA in my pre-reqs and I am thinking I'll bring it up to a 3.6 after I finish these two. 5/5 classes taken at BRCC.
My bf is crazy and called up the Nursing Department after I received my TEAS score and asked what the chances of me getting in would be. They said that an 84% with a 3.6 was very competitive and looked really good, but that they couldn't say for certain (obviously) because they didn't know what the pool looked like this year.

Hey, your “crazy boyfriend” is amazing then and gave some of us a good bit of hope for getting in! LOL ? your score and GPA are great and I’m hoping we all meet each other in nursing school! I wish they’d announce it sooner than June, though! ?

I know, June is forever away! However, I am thankful that I got to apply this year. I didn't realize you had to take Biology before taking A&P since it wasn't included in the checklist. So I was barely able to apply to this round.
I hope we all get in and live happily ever after! ?

LOL ? he sounds great and had more courage than me hahaha I was too scared to call and ask for my chances ? and that’s amazing that you made it in time for this semester! Hopefully we all just get to class in the fall and enjoy, agreed!
Hi Future Nurses!! I just wanted to check in with everyone as I'm looking forward to being admitted this cycle as well! I've been an LPN for nearly 10 years and I'm finally making that transition. I've heard that BRCC's program is fairly competitive but I am hoping that for the sake of those that have had trouble transitioning to online instruction and testing over this past year that they admit at least 90.
Here's my stats. I have a 3.4 in prereqs (I chose not to retake them from years ago) TEAS score of 80 and 5/5 of my prereqs were taken at BRCC!
I'm not sure how competitive this will make me but I'm hoping for the best and sending positivity to each one of you!
@JCharbonnetHoward I hope they admit more too! I am curious about how they decide who is put in the fall class vs. the Spring class. I kind of want to be put in the Spring class.

I’m soooo ready to hear from them! I did a planning session last month and apparently next year they are making it a requirement to have pre-reqs done before applying to help with the processing time, but good god waiting since January is horrible! Ever since I finished my TEAS, it has just felt like a lifetime waiting! We all need a destresser! Hahaha ? I keep hoping they’ll tel us early since finals were due earlier this year. Checking my email and mail daily since someone said their friends acceptance came through mail last year. ?

I hope the first one was right and they won’t just hold off until June for no reason! We have too much to get done during the Summer to just push off for nothing, especially since finals were done last week and I’d think they already “presorted” everything and were just waiting for grades. Hell, I need it just to relieve my anxiety! LOL ? I keep having the SAME anxiety! I have a fear I forgot something or missed a signature and they won’t say anything until results, just saying “good try, but no” ?
Awww thank you! Looking at your scores and having talked to other people through the GroupMe and facebook, your scores look competitive! From what they said in the advising session, TEAS tend to be mostly in the 70s and GPAs 3.3-3.5, so that’s awesome! Hopefully we’ll hear soon and can all link up and have study buddies! We’ll need it for the next two years!! ?
