Any Brazilian Nurses in this website?

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.
Hi Williams75,

I'm a brazilian RN interested in working in California, I got my degree in Brazil at Escola de Enfermagem Alfredo Pinto and passed the TOEFL, but now that I'm trying to apply to take the NCLEX they said that I need a social security number in order for them to accept my application.

How did you do it? I would really appreciate any advice you can give me about this and how did you make UFRJ send all your paperwork to the States.

I'm kinda lost at the moment and any help would be great, thank you!

For several years now CA will not accept an application without a US SSN. You may have to consider another state and then apply to CA once in the US with a valid working/immigrant visa

Hi everyone!

I'm an RN in the US and I was wondering what I would have to do to practice nursing in Brazil. Can I transfer my license without having to take a test in Brazil? Does anyone know about this process?

Any Brazilian citizens working in Europe or US, how did you get there? I am in Portugal right now, but having trouble finding work in Europe.

Hello everybody, it seems that I'm late on this conversation. I just want to say that I'm glad to see Brazilian nurses trying to go to the U.S. to practice nursing, and this is what I'm planning to do after my graduation. Also, it is good to see people from other countries planning to go to Brazil. I thought anybody would want to work as a nurse in Brazil. Lol! Right now I'm studying nursing at Ohio University as an exchange student by "Science Without Borders". I've never planned to work as a nurse in the U.S., but all the experience that I've been having here just open my mind to this opportunity. Hope I can be in touch with some of you to get to know the ways to come to the U.S. after my graduation.

Rodrigo

Hi everyone. I'm a Brazilian nurse and I intend to work in the US, specifically in MD where I'll move to soon. Right now, I'm working on all my paperwork to send to CGFNS (transcripts, forms...) so I can get a Professional Report in order to take the NCLEX-RN. I graduated from Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso (UFMT) and my question is: does anyone have any idea on the minimum hours/credits required in each subject from CGFNS form? And by the way, is it really necessary to have some hours on non-nursing subjects, which are in the form, such as: Art, History, Religion, Archaelogy and other. Thanks in advance!!
