Brandman University ABSN Program

Hi All,

I'm wondering if any one has heard of Brandman University. They have a new ABSN program in San Diego, CA that i'm looking into. My grades are not competitive but i want to get into my career soon.

Has anyone been to this school, and if so, how did you like it? Do you think I'll be able to land a good job as an RN if I were to apply and attend? I'm nervous, since it is a new program! Such as, what if they end up closing and the degree won't be valid ?

Hello, I am not a student at Brandman. But I am interested in applying. I spoke with the Director of the ABSN program and she said their minimum GPA requirement is 2.0 and they allow for students to take prerequisites at the University. The program can be finished in 3 years but if all/most of your pre-requisites are completed, then the nursing core should be finished in 4 semesters! Additionally, I found out that that they only admit 24 students per semester. (Spring, Summer, Fall)

Is anyone else planning on applying? I just submitted my application for the priority deadline for the Spring 2020 semester.

Hi, I am currently attending Brandman and would recommend it, I got accepted into the very first ABSN cohort which starts in the summer of May 2020. The nursing core classes are 4 1/2 semesters including the summers. All of our clinicals are done at Sharp hospital which is great.

@Leocky have you started any of your nursing classes yet? how is learning mainly in online environment going for you?

I have not started the nursing classes yet. I start in May as the very first cohort. I love the online environment for the pre reqs. It goes by so fast and very manageable.

@Leocky what was your GPA range? I am considering but am afraid my GPA is not competitive!

@JPT_RNAdmission process was super easy. I submitted my transcripts, essay and other paperwork online in one day then I heard back about 2 weeks later that I was accepted. Tuition is $500 a unit and there are 68 units for the core classes. So about 6k a semester. Thankfully financial aid covers most of my cost.

@epowetata You should def. apply,theres no application fee either ?

Hello there,

I just applied for Brandman University's ABSN program and it was rather easy. It took me about an hour to have all the requirements done. I will give an update as to how the admission process goes on this post.? Wish me luck!

Hey guys!

I applied for priority Spring 2020 and was accepted! Starting in Jan 2020, but nursing courses won't start until Summer 2020. Meanwhile, I would have to finish a couple of pre-requisites that are only offered at Brandman.

Thank you! After submitting all of the required documents and having them looked over, it took roughly two weeks. (A very long two weeks, it felt like)
