boston RN programs?

I am hoping to move to boston for fall 2011 nursing program. Can anyone help me with RN programs around the boston area? I am wondering how hard they are to get into, cost, prereqs, or any other information would be really helpful! My brother goes to berkley school of music so we wanted to be able to stay close. I am already almost done with prereqs for RN programs where I live now so a place I could apply to for fall 2011 would be great!

either direct, BSN or associates. im pretty open on choices. I have an associates degree already but its in business.

have you already applied to schools around the Boston areas already? some have deadlines that have come and gone, and some have deadlines that are still open...like Regis and Labore I believe. Most scools are extremly competitive and you may have to apply several yrs in a row to get in, even after finishing pre req's. Its very smart to want to be close to your brother. Boston is agreat place to experiince city life, and having him around wil help you enjoy it even more.LAl of the nuring programs are as easy to find out as googling them, or Binging them. Theres so much to see online and can help narrow your desicion even more, including pertinent info such as the tuition fees, campus life , and requirements.

Simmons College, MGH, and UMass Boston all have Accelerated BSN programs. The deadlines are varied, but you haven't missed any of them for a 2011 start. Both MGH and Simmons start in the summer though, and I'm not sure about UMass. I'm not sure what gender you are, but Simmons BSN programs are female only.

Simmons, MGH, BC, Labore, Regis, are all very expensive (Simmons is $40,000 a year). Also the prospect for employment in the Boston metro area is dismal. Most of the Community Colleges have wait lists while some of the more expensive schools (Simmons) may not. Please choose your program wisely, as the debt to job ratio in this area is horrible.

I second that. The cost of nursing programs in Boston is outrageous. I don't have a statistical data, but my guess is that a tuition & fees are one of the highest in the country.

For example:

Regis - $840/credit

Laboure - $725/credit.

And what's interesting - during the last 5 year many schools is Boston have doubled the price. Unfortunately, nursing salaries did not increase that much.

thanks for all the advice guys!! i have decided to stay in texas to at least get started. i have thought about getting my LVN here and transferring to boston to do a LVN-RN bridge. do any of the schools have bridge programs, if so is it just as hard and expensive to get into as the nursing programs?

There are bridge programs here. I don't know about the cost of those programs, but it sounds like they aren't as competitive to get into as other RN programs are.

The accelerated programs mentioned are post-baccalaureate programs, so you need a Bachelor's degree in order to apply and potentially get into those programs.
