I am currently approaching the end of my first semester in nursing(holding a B average). I am desperately looking-actually both my sister(she's holding a B too!!) and I are desperately looking-to leave Boston, willing to interrupt schooling if able to pick it back up in GA via work commitment thru a hospital. If any of y'all know of any hospitals offering this type of program pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease let me know!!!My sista and I would greatly appreciate it :D :D :D :D :D :D

you got family in georgia? what reason you looking to relocate?

thanks for replying!!!sorry about the delay. i'm really nu2this-hence the name:) well, i do have family but me and my sister plan on moving down together because her husband has been pretty much guaranteed a spot on the atlanta police dept(his lifelong dream)-i'm actually tryin to make my way to florida!!but i can be comfortable in ga, wouldn't mind goin to school down there. besides been born and raised in boston-it's too damn cold and my children need to get some "country" in them:)

here are some pointers on trying to get help with schooling via work commitment. if you use computer alot look on search engine like Google and locate atlanta hospitals. contact nursing recruiters at the ones your interested in and tell them what you are looking for and you are a nursing student. this should be able to help you. that's what landed me in getting the job i have now as a patient care technician while in nursing school. weather down here in the south is nice right now. we dont get much snow here maybe just a light dusting. i live in upstate south carolina about 2 hours away from atlanta. good luck!!!

Can you elaborate more on this LPN? I will be taking a CNA course between semesters here in a couple of weeks and I'm really interested in what you were talking about how you got your PCT job. I don't really want to work in a LTC facility. There's 1 particular hospital that I'd LOVE to work at during nursing school and would love to work there after I become a RN as well.

Thanks in advance,

Amy

here is some pointers for trying to secure a pct 1 job. try calling the nursing recruiter at the hospital after you complete you cna course and ask them the requirements for the job. the only requirement they had for the job was to have had nursing fundamentals. and also if the hospital you are interested in has a web page look thru their job postings. hope this helps. this is how i got my job. also tell them if they have anything open you are interested in putting in an application and interviewing.

I went to school in Ga. Since nursing is a critical shortage field, the state had a work forgiven loan that paid for everything. Call a school and talk to the finacial aide dept for the specifics. What it did for me was pay my tuition and books straight to the school and after graduation, for every quarter that I worked in a critical area, they forgave one semester owed. Not bad, I didnt pay a dime. This is a state funded program with no financial restrictions, so anyone is eligable. Good luck and enjoy Atlanta
