  1. hello everyone, i'm what some georgians call an "implant". i've relocated to union city, ga via boston, massachusetts. i'm at the good ol' grady hospital, emergency room-a whole 'nother world from what i've been told and from what i've experienced so far.
  2. KRISTY, you are certainly my HERO. New nurse, charging, having instincts, having confidence AND ACTING ON THEM!!! I, too, am a new nurse and there is no way on GOD'S green earth(or anybody's earth for that matter!!!) would I ever been able to perform the tasks you did!!!KUDOS!!! I will continuously think of your thread throughout my orientation in the E.R. Don't you dare think for one moment that you're lacking in your professionalism. Pat yourself on the back, and keep it movin'. It's times like these that makes me glad we're nurses, employment is not an issue. As my sister says (we're both nurses) R.N. means REALLY NEEDED!!!!
  3. hello to my floridian nurses, could you please give me some advice on my job/school/housing search in florida. my boyfriend(soon-to-be-fiance, i hope) and i are leaving for florida this weds, feb 16. i'm scared and excited all at once. i'm looking for some good tips, advice, well-wishes, prayers etc. don't forget to tell me about the caveats as well(ya have to take the bad with the good). we'll be in the tampa area, looking to relocate there this summer after i take my boards in boston. i'm familiar with the florida board process for getting my license. looking forward to meeting some good ol' warm and friendly folk!!!

thanks for your support. i am in the first year of my clinicals(second semester). and i have been extremely blessed!!! my patients have been lovely and i've had two wonderful clinical instructors:) i've had such wonderful "first experiences" that i'm actually dreading the time when all this splendor and warm-fuzzies is going to disappear. i know personally that if i should find myself in the position to "hand-hold" when i become and "accomplished" nurse , i am going to do it with a smile. all because i was treated so wonderful. so as the saying goes, a little niceness goes a long way. thanks for all of you "hand-holding" veteran nurses:kiss
  7. jnette, so sorry to hear about your friend. as i read your thread, i could feel your hurt. may the Lord comfort all of you in your time of sorrow, God bless!!!
  8. hello to all you pulmonary nurses out there, a group of my nursing school buddies called me last night wanting to know what oxygen mask is more appropriate for a copd patient, all of us except one thought it was the venturi mask. our textbook, for all the money it costs, does not give a clear cut answer. could someone please satisfy "inquiring minds"? thanks a million and happy holidays
  9. thanks for replying!!!sorry about the delay. i'm really nu2this-hence the name:) well, i do have family but me and my sister plan on moving down together because her husband has been pretty much guaranteed a spot on the atlanta police dept(his lifelong dream)-i'm actually tryin to make my way to florida!!but i can be comfortable in ga, wouldn't mind goin to school down there. besides been born and raised in boston-it's too damn cold and my children need to get some "country" in them:)
  10. I am currently approaching the end of my first semester in nursing(holding a B average). I am desperately looking-actually both my sister(she's holding a B too!!) and I are desperately looking-to leave Boston, willing to interrupt schooling if able to pick it back up in GA via work commitment thru a hospital. If any of y'all know of any hospitals offering this type of program pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease let me know!!!My sista and I would greatly appreciate it :D :D :D
