Boston College Direct Master's Entry 2017

Published

Hi all! Is anybody out there who applied to BC's Direct Entry program for fall 2017? The deadline is tomorrow, but I have no idea how their process works from here! I haven't found anything on the website. Best of luck to everyone!

Is anyone else still waiting to hear back?

I couldn't find anywhere cheaper than Butler CC. Their online course starts mid-March..I tried to take the one that starting 2/13 but not enough people signed up for it. Hoping this one actually runs or I'll have to take it at UNE for $1300!

Between Vanderbilt (FNP) and BC (PNP). Leaning toward Vandy though. Any thoughts?

Has anyone taken UNE's pathophysiology course? I'd love to know how difficult it is/ how long the course was (I know it is self-paced but just would love a general idea).

Thank you!!

i took UNE's "physiology" course online and it was very straight forward, so i bet that the pathophys is similar. you can do it as fast as you want. i believe we had 12 weeks, but you can get it all done however fast you need.

i'm considering those two as well! curious what current students at BC like most and dislike most about the program....

Does anyone know if there is a Facebook group for Class of 2019?

I was accepted at Vandy and BC. I'm currently in the first year of the program at BC and am very happy with it. I loved Vandy when I visited, and cost of living is less, but I know Nashville is saturated with NPs and I wasn't really interested in living elsewhere in TN after graduation. Plus, I'm from New England. I'm really happy with this program, but obviously not having enrolled at Vandy I can't REALLY compare them for you. But I'm happy with my decision. And I have buyer's remorse about everything...lol

I remember being in your shoes, so if I can answer anything specific just ask :-)

I know that Boston College does not offer you a BSN. Isn't this a problem when trying to find jobs in the future? As an NP will you make less salary or does it affect the difficulty of finding a job is you don't have a BSN?

Anyone who was on the waitlist receive an acceptance?

I was accepted off of the waitlist on March 10th for the FNP program

For those who are accepted, can you please post your stats.
