Books to use

Published

Hi,

What are some good books to have on hand throughout nursing school? I have the Saunders 5th edition NCLEX-RN, a few Made Incredibly Easy books, LaCharity, Taber's Medical Dictionary, and some pocket guides. Is there anything that helped you through nursing school that I don't have?

Thank you!

I have the Saunders, but it isn't my favorite. Here's the books I have:

Prentice Hall NCLEX Review's and Rationales

Fundamentals Success

Med/Surg Success

Pharmacology Success

Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment Practice Exercises for NCLEX (Mosby)

ECG Interpretation Made Incredibly Easy (great for when you are learning cardiac)

HESI Review for the NCLEX

Lippincotts Emergency Nursing Q&A

A+ in Fluids and Electrolytes, A+ in Peds, A+ in Mother/Baby

Pathophysiology Made Incredibly Easy

Bought Pharmacology Math Made Incredibly Easy, never cracked it--passed pharm.

NCLEX-RN Made Incredibly Easy

The Saunders NCLEX Book, though not my favorite either

Davis's NCLEX Q&A 2010 test plan, it's got lots of SATA

Nurse's 5 minute clinical consult: diseases (makes pre-clinical research go very fast, and even has nursing diagnosis and interventions for each pathology)

Specializes in MICU.

I'm still in nursing school. Here's what is helping me now:

Swearingen's All-in-One Care Plans book.

Davis's Drug Guide for Nurses

Doenges Nurse's Pocket Guide

RN Notes (A small flip-book that has quick-reference info. Great for clinicals)

Dale Dubin's Rapid Interpretation of EKG's.
