mylilduke 13 Posts Aug 9, 2008 I had to pay over 2100 bucks for books for my first semester. They say we won't have to pay for anymore books after that. Then they sent a letter saying we will still be adding books each semester.CaSsAnDrA

I only have 2 of the 5 because the other 3 I have to order through ANA but I hear they're no thicker than a magazine which is disappointing. At least I was told we'll need those books later on in the program. And for another class I need **11** books, which is ridiculous. The class is actually split into 2 semesters but I'm going to need them all eventually so why not get them all now?they're so expensive

gillytook 207 Posts Aug 10, 2008 How many of those books are refence manuals dsuch as Taber's, lab refences or a drug guide. That is what drove my total up the first semester. 10-12 books for the first semester, 4 for OB/Peds and this semester none. Next semester there is one for mental health and a few inexpensive ones and magazines for nursing seminar. Of the first batch of books, I use all but one repeatedly. In fact, I have gone back and purchased some of them for my PDA so that I have them on hand at clinicals and don't have to drag a rolling backpack to the hospital with me.
