  1. :redpinkhe Thanks for the encouragement Dondie. My mother use to say those encouraging words....man I miss them! As far as getting accepted... as long as you have A's and B's you should be okay. i was so nervous I didn't think I would get in because I heard horror stories that 500 applied...not true. I believe as long as you have good grades and all the requirements they want finished you'll get right in. CaSsAnDrA
  2. Tommorrow is my first day of nursing school! I don't know what to expect all I know is that I'm nervous. I almost feel like I'm going in the 9th grade trying to avoid the bullies/snobs and try not to trip in front of my class. CaSsAnDrA:clown:

I like to look at the hospital websites to look at the type of jobs they have available. It gives me a piece of mind while I'm in school. Anyway when I was on there they had this: Shift: Second : Full-time Hours: 1430-2300 Every Other Weekend.... How can you be full time if you only work everyother weekend. Next dumb question: I noticed some are saying 36 hours are full time...do they pay you for 40? I wonder if overtime is allowed if people choose. Thanks in advance.
  4. I'm starting my first semester at RSU. Talk about nervous....I'm also in shell shock I had a 2200. dollar book cost this semster.OuCh! CaSsAnDrA:typing
  5. Thanks Kim that helps alot! I've noticed alot of people talk alot on this board about S.J., but not alot of people talk about St. Francis. I just don't know alot about S.J., all of family usually goes to S.F., but I will definetly look into it. C A S S A N D R A
  6. Hi everyone, I'm getting ready to start my first semester of nursing school at RSU. While I'm excited I am nervous as well. I was looking into scholarships for the spring and following semester and ran across hospital scholarships. I was wondering if anyone has used them. I noticed for every semester they help fund you work for them for six months. Has anyone had a bad experience.. like they pay you less or don't get to work in the area of your choice. Next question: Is there a difference between the amount they help you. I know on St. John's website they say they will cover 1500. but Saint Francis doesn't mention an amount. Thanks in Advance, Cassandra
  7. I completed my requirements to get into nursing school, and applied to get into the RSU nursing program for Aug. 2008. I was looking at Saint Francis and St. Johns website and saw the scholarship information.I guess my question is have any of you used the scholarship or heard anything about it. I need as much help as I can get financially and thought this sounded great. Do you guys think it would be dumb to take the scholarship if offered, because you have to work 6 months for every semester. do you think they will pay you less? Last but not least does anyone know how much they cover? Thanks in Advance
  8. I'm working on getting my RN at RSU, my question is once you get your Associates can you work and still go to school to finish your BSN?
