What about Big Fish? The movie was made my Tim Burton, I read the book as well, out loud to my kids a couple years ago. Got a little choked up at parts.... :-) Can't remember the author but it would be fabulous for all ages.
In the theme of LTC....
(I loved the book Water for Elephants!)
My book suggestions: Big Fish
Dying Well by Ira Byock, not a quick read but will change your life. It was recommended to me when my mom was on hospice.
And in the spirit of the holidays how about The Christmas Box? By Richard P. Evans.
I will look forward to hearing any other suggestions sent your way, I'm always looking for a good book to read!
Also by Mitch Albom - For One More Day,. How about "The Red Tent", "Wicked", "Son of a Witch" and if you like weird ones "The Weatherman" by Robert Thayer I am not so sure the first name is correct, but the last name is. Wicked and Son of a Witch are about the Wicked Witch of the West from OZ and they are really good! The Red Tent is about the "red tent" in the biblical days when women were considered unclean for the days of the month when they had their menses...about the relationships they shared and the bonds they formed...it is a great book!

Hi, I love a good book- there are so many that deal with nursing homes- like Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe by Fannie Flagg , and Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen, and Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom,
Any others to recommend?
Also, any good movies to recommend for showing to my staff on Movie Night- we did Patch Adams, Do you Remember Love, Driving Miss Daisy...
We then discuss the movie a bit- its really nice!
