Hi , Creating this thread for anyone applying for Spring 2021 at BMCC . I didn’t get in last round so will plan to sit the HESI in December hopefully . Not sure what my PCI is but I got A’s in everything except AP1 which I got a B in . Please share tips or info so we can help each other . I’m in my 40’s and I’ve young kids so this is definitely a career change for me !

Have you tried using a college GPA calculator? I hope you get to sit for the HESI exam. It seems like the GPA's were very high to enter BMCC this semester, especially this cohort. Mine was 3.89 and I was NERVOUS about it. Had 3 A's and 2 A-, And had all other classes required in the nursing program in which I also have A's. Grade B in any class, ESPECIALLY in AP1 would have me worried. Can you retake AP1? This will give you a little bit of leeway in the HESI test grade, which I heard it is hard. Also, have you considered applying to La Guardia Community College or another Community College just for a backup? You can also apply for a 4 year nursing program at York College or another CUNY. This way, you won't waste more time and have some options in case BMCC falls through again. I wish you luck and the best to you.

I am applying for 2021 Spring semester. I got an A on Math 104, PSY, and CHE 121, A- on A&P1. I did Micro and A&P2 got an A- too, but my English is B- ? which I took it long time ago and my English is not my first language. I am still hoping to get in. I hope there will be a HESI2 exam. We’re in the same situation NCCN. I have two kids and I’m 41, but not loosing hope ?

If I don’t get in at BMCCI might go to Union County College. Maybe JFK Muhlenberg or Trinitas. They have high acceptance rate.

You have to change that B- grade somehow. Email the professor and ask to do an extra writing project, I promise I can help you with it in any way that I can, like editing and coaching you on how to write. Tell the prof your situation and beg to have a chance to change your grade. You will not get in with a B-, especially not in prereqs. CUNY is so cheap and the competition is colossal. I got in for Fall2020 and with a GPA of 3.9 I thought I had slim chances because so many students seemed to have had a 4.0 GPA. Contact your professor now, do not wait.

I was transferred student last fall semester. I took that English at CSI last 2009. I am thinking to email the nursing department and ask if I can retake it?

Hey beautiful ones! I AM SUPER PROUD OF YOU WARRIORS FOR STICKING IT OUT‼️‼️??❤️ I am in the same situation however I’m in my 20’s and I have a little one. AGE DOESN’T MATTER YOUR LEVEL OF DETERMINATION, WILL, AND AMBITION DOES! I was a transfer student (transferred to BMCC Fall of 2018) I received an A in MAT 104, B in AP1, B- in AP2, A- in CHEM 121, B- in ENG (I took 10 years ago), and an A in PSY 100. This was my second time getting rejected (for Spring 2020 and FALL 2020) I failed the Kaplan last year and this year my GPA didn’t qualify me a spot but my bestie got in PRAISE GOD ????❤️❤️❤️????????!!

Those science grades weigh heavier than any other class literally and figuratively speaking. The science grades are 4 credits courses and the other pre-reqs are only 3 credit courses. Due to the competitive nature of 99.9% Nursing programs they set the bar high. Cumulative GPA matters as much as Science GPA.

I made the semi tough decision to retake 3 science courses this semester at BMCC. I am retaking AP1, AP2, and CHEM 122 (I took it this Summer and received a C-). Fortunately I officially graduated last month yay!!??? However I’m torn between starting at a new school (I applied in Feb and was accepted in March) or staying with BMCC to see if I could get into the Spring 2021 program. I leaning more toward leaving to start the Bachelors program at the new school. Every other subject I have an A or A- from BMCC.

Have you ladies decided which next step you’re going to take for the FALL and Spring SEMESTER? What will you do different this semester to change or increase your chances for getting next go round?

A grade of C- is not good news....
