Bmcc nursing spring 2019 applicant

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey there, i was just wondering if anyone is planning on apply to the bmcc nursing for spring of 2019.

Hi guys, just a quick question, do you know if I can apply for the Fall program 2019 if I take and finish Bio 425 this Spring? And when do they open registration for the Kaplan exam?

Sucks that allnurses was down in the middle of acceptance period but glad to say I got in! Evening program

To answer your question bookish_rn, It depends on if you are an Undeclared Health Student or Liberal Arts. I think only students who have been at BMCC for a while qualify as Undeclared health students and I was told they technically no longer offer that major to students. So yea if you are a liberal arts major you have to complete every pre-req before you can apply to the program. They wouldn't let me sign up for the Kaplan when I finished MAT104 & A&P II Spring 2018 with A's in both. Said I had to wait until the Fall 2019 semester to apply and take the Kaplan for Spring 2019 because I was a liberal arts major. Its a silly policy in my opinion but that's likely what they are gonna tell you. I had to call the nursing department to find that out and I was crushed.

thanks @rnby2020 for that. Been trying to get clarification on that for a while now. I have A&P and Mat 104 to take this Spring then I should have all 4 pre-reqs. I agree, it's pretty silly but what can we do *shrug* I guess Spring 2020 it is... Not the best news but I knew the process could be a bit complicated. Hopefully, it'll be easier then. Plan to take EKG and Phleb. certification if I don't get to apply for fall so I can at least try to get some experience in the interim. When did you apply for this Spring? Just so I have an idea on when to go for this year to be able to apply for next. Thanks so much!

btw, Congrats on getting in!!! :D

Hi, I am doing the same thing, maybe we are in the same class lol

i am not sure what is going on, I get more info from other students than from the school. I have all the bio’s to take because they all expired. 426 summer, 425 and 420 in the fall. I thought I can apply for the spring as a liberal art major. Do I have to wait another semester???? Until fall 2020? I can take 426 first because I have all and they lay me in even though it expired

Hey @Lizzyny! Maybe! what classes are you taking now? Also, wouldn't it be easier to take 425 first? Doesn't 426 build off of what they teach in 425? I think it says you need to already have taken 426 before you can take 420, at least that's what it states on that RN roadmap they have on the site.

Regarding applying, from what I understand, you can apply for the program the semester after you complete all pre-reqs. At least, that's what it looks like everyone is stating. I'm finishing my pre-reqs right now (Spring 19) so I wouldn't be able to apply until Fall of 2019 for Spring 2020, which sucks but what can we do -_-

I'm applying for spring 2020 evening program as well. I'm taking bio 426 this summer any advice?
