Good evening Everyone,
I have a question and it seems like everyone on this forum responds much quicker than the school does so please respond if you know the answer to this.
I plan on applying to BMCC’s nursing program in Fall 2021, I’ve completing my prerequisites (Eng 101, Mat 104, Psy100, Chem 121) and have gotten an A or A- in all my classes and accumulated a 3.9 GPA. I just completed Eng 201(which is not a prerequisite) Summer session with a C-. I’ve taken Speech 100 & I’m taking BIO 425 and Psy240 this fall.
Based on what I was told by The nursing dept, they only look at your grades for the 4 prereq’s (Eng 101, Mat 104, Psy100 & BIO425) but I’m wondering if I should retake my ENG 201 class for a better grade.
Please note I’m in the process of reaching out to my English 201 professor to dispute my C- grade.
And I’m considering transferring to other nursing schools since BMCC’s process is lengthy.
Please share your thoughts, Thank you!

Yes that’s about right and the books were about $800. It’s books and a learning platform and also there is HESI to pay for which you will take at the end of the semester. I’d say somewhere all under 3k
1.7k for tuition
around 800 for books
around 300 for uniform

Make sure you are entered to be registered for fall if you havent taken any classes for Spring. You need to be matriculated in the school you can just email admissions and registrar or call
I would suggest the new students should get a whatsapp group together espescially for morning section as you are allowed to trade sections prior to class starting to better suit your schedule. Also nursing program can't be done alone. You are gonna stick together till the end, and you are going to need help during clinicals, class and everything else. The competition is over be friendly with your classmates, you might end up in the same unit/ or need a new draw sheet during AM care ?
Expect a drug test lay off the 420- yes you can get removed if your found positive.
You will need clearance from the doctor and will require you proof of vaccination. if you are non converter of Hepatitis B start the series again and sign the declination form this will save you a ton of anxiety of getting cleared by castle branch later. Upload it again after the series if your shown to be immuned

The uniform is not $300, it's about $70.
You will need a nice stethoscope
pen with light
white shoes- I got white foam nurse shoes form ebay for $12.99
and couple of cheap things like forcepts, dressing scissors that we never ever used (but it was covid so we had no clinical)
