I was just wondering if anyone has gotten into BMCC's evening nursing program? If so, what was your GPA? My GPA is currently a 3.7 but I still don't even think that's good enough so I may have to repeat general psychology. Is it even worth it to stay at BMCC?
It's really upsetting that it's so hard to get into a nursing program in NY. When it's all said and done it will have taken me 4+ years to get my associate's degree .

Try not to look at it as an associates degree. Look at it as a Nursing license. Good luck.

Excellent way of putting it! The majority of degrees that you can get after only 4 years of study (or a B.S.) will not earn you the 75K that is now being earned by nurses with their license.

Hello there,
I am in BMCC evening program. I am going int 3rd semester now. It is very competitive to be accepted into BMCC, but if u have 3.7. you may be able to get into the evening program. If you have all of ur prereqs done, you should goto the nursing department and talk to Mr. Sierra. he will give u all the info reqd to be in the program. Good Luck!!

Has anyone heard yet if they were accepted to the BMCC Evening program for Spring 09?

Definitely. I know so many people with a Bachelors and they are struggling to make $9-14/hr in retail, etc. A Nursing license may only take an Associates, but it is NOT an easy Associates...that's for sure!
It holds to the saying : Anything that is worth something in life..will be a challenge.
I wish everyone the best of luck with their nursing career!

It's too early to hear acceptance for the evening program yet. I just saw Mr. Sierra and he said to come back end of March or early April to apply. So I assume its still too early. I am also interested in the night program.
