adelphi has the lowest pass rate for the state boards. North shore refuses to hire adelphi RNs because they come out of school completely incompetent. If you can get accepted to the associate degree schools, you will be the best nurse.

i am dead against accelerated programs. I feel like people do not know what nursing school really involves. I also feel that the people that choose the accelerated programs think that nursing is something that can be crammed in. Can someone do med school in 1 year? I would so no. I think people are going in to nursing for the money and job security. It is something that will drain you if that is why you are coming in to it.

As far as everyone from HSS being rude.... You are way off my dear. Maybe the recruiter was rude to you because you have terrible english grammar. Your statement here on allnurses.com was a a mix of run on sentences and fragments. HSS is the top hospital in New York and the world. They only want the best nurses. If you ever spit in my face, you would lose your front teeth. It is amazing to me that you would put down and entire institution because of one bad interaction with one person. If you are going to be a good nurse, you must grow thicker skin. It is a very hard career. It is indeed a cut throat profession. Good Luck.

North shore LIJ are both terrible with calling people back. I work at manhasset. nursing is terrible. The only good thing is the paycheck and the time off. it is a terrible attitude but the truth. I went to nassau and graduated in 2006. where did you go?

I was on 4N as a student and thought it was a dump. But most floors are terrible. Good Luck.

Try not to look at it as an associates degree. Look at it as a Nursing license. Good luck.
