In going through threads here on the forum, I notice that folks peg these classes as one semester. But perusing the bmcc website, it states that each of the classes are 2 semesters. For example, a sample schedule thru all nurses looks like this:
Fall 2010
BIO 425
Spring 2011
BIO 426
Fall 2011
^^This would make it seem as if the classes are just one semester, instead of two. Please advise because I'm going nuts over here. Thank you.

Usually, you cannot combined AP1 (Bio425), AP2 (Bio426) and Micro (Bio420) at the same time. You have to take them per semester. However, I've had two classmates who were able to take both Bio 426 and Bio420 at the same time, from what they told me, the science department were able to make exceptions for them. Still, combining any of these three will be very difficult to do much less get an A for them. My advice is to take one at a time so you can absorb them. You can also try taking any of them during summer (also difficult but doable in getting an A).
Hope this helps.

Thanks for responding. So you are saying that they are indeed two semesters each? So the schedule would look like this:
CHE 121
SPR 2011
Sum I
Spring 2012
BIO 426*
Fall 2012
BIO 420*
Spring 2013
BIO 420
(*in the event that the science dept. did not allow me to combine them.)
Not at all. You can take each subject per semester.
Che 121
BIO425
Summer 2011
Thanks soooo much! I feel much better now. I'm def not going to combine any of the classes

I took A&PII and Micro together and got As on both. I also was taken three other classes at the same time. Of course, I didn't have any job either, so my job was to study hard the whole semester.
At the end I felt really burned out, but I learned a lot and was able to retain all the info regardless b/c the subjects relate to each other.
Good luck. =)

I took A&P 1 over the summer last year then took A&P2 and Micro in the Fall. So it is def allowed, I was not a matriculated student though, so I am not sure if that plays into that. I just went to BMCC to complete some pre-reqs.

I took Bio 425 (AP I), CHE 121, and Nutrition one semester and Bio 426 (Ap II) with Bio 420 (Micro) the following semester...in order to this you must plead your case to the science department. I have a prior degree so I wasn't going to take no for an answer LOL. Taking CHE 122 over the summer as we speak AND IT IS NOT PRETTY! Good luck to you!
