Hello To all,
I haven't been on this website for awhile feels good to be back . I just took my Teas Exam last week and passed thankfully. I thought I was going to get a higher score but I am still happy I passed. I have to wait until the middle of June to see if I get accepted to Bloomfield College nursing program for the Fall of 2015. I am excited and scared being that there is a lot of students to choose from, but I have hope. However, is always good to have a Plan B I have been struggling with searching for schools here in NJ that will accept my teas scores, if anyone knows some please comment below or have any advice it will be helpful. Thank you :)
I personally love Bloomfield college, its smaller compared to other campuses but it such an amazing school. Since I transferred to Bloomfield, I Love it! If you are there to study and focus than Bloomfield is perfect. As far as nursing classes we are on the same page as I do not know yet where they will be held.....

Thanks for your response! It does seem like a small school and there is nothing bad about that! I actually prefer that. For your other classes, were you in the bigger buildings on campus? Or classes held in those "houses" (that's the only way I can describe them.
Hey guys I'm a junior in the nursing program this upcoming school year. I can try and answer some questions for you:
- Most of your nursing classes will be in college hall
- You will get a welcome packet soon that tells you all that you need to know about ordering uniforms, and what you need to do for medical clearance
- You will have a orientation session where they will go over all of the guidelines and policies for the program
Some extra insight:
- People in the nursing program form a tight community and we are all supportive of each other.
- Never be afraid to ask for help from the upperclassmen (we don't bite lol), and we are more than willing to share our study habits and give you tips on how to stay afloat during the semester
- Your peers in your graduating class will basically become your second family
- Always try to stay ahead of assignments and readings. Falling behind and playing catch up is never something that you want to do in nursing
- Finally, nursing is a completely different animal than any other class you have taken. It will challenge you, and you will have to study hard. Do not take things lightly.
You could look into purchasing your books now to get ahead on reading if you wish. I believe that the nursing courses that you will have for the fall semester are NUR 215 & NUR 235. You can go to this website ( Your Customized Textbook List - Bloomfield College Bookstore ) and look up the books and pricing. I always suggest looking for other prices online, and to not be afraid to get used books.
In terms of supplies, that is more of a personal preference. Most people use binders and a few people use notebooks, laptops, or their iPads. The other nursing supplies that you will need will be specified in your packet.
I have loans, but if you get scholarships or financial aid you will not need to borrow as much money.
