I saw there wasn’t a thread created for the Fall 2019 Blinn Nursing!! So I made one! I just got my acceptance on Friday so if anyone else got accepted, I would love to get connected! :))

Yessss... you feel me!! But at the same time.. I’d rather just go for the rn to begin with. I’ll be taking less hours because I’m pretty much done with the degree plan except for the actual nursing courses and clinicals. I think I’m down to 32 hours.. over 2 years. It will be a breeze compared to starting over w LVN courses. Lvn is having a meeting tomorrow to talk about the transition. Maybe it will help me make a better choice. I’m really happy I at least got on the alternate list but this feels like torture.

Yes yes yes!! I completely feel you lol ! And same, I'm done with all prereqs and the additional courses because I graduated Uni already. But we got this ?.. If you don't mind, can you tell me about the transition meeting after you go? Unfortunately I have to work tomorrow ?

Yes! Absolutely. I didn’t find out till last minute and I’m not going to miss it for anything. I’ll give you an overview sometime tomorrow

Ok so I got new information at the meeting this morning. They informed us that the new transition program will no longer require you to work for a year befor transitioning into ADN from LVN. Which was news to me. As long as you graduate in 10 months and you are accepted into the transition program you pretty much can graduate with your degree within the two years it takes the ADN PROGRAM to run its course. This takes a bit of pressure off for me because I’m just tired of waiting. So hey!! All you alternates!! If you have not turned in a LVN APP it’s due Friday by noon I believe!! Get one in!! They only accept applicants once a year!! If you miss it you have to wait till this time next year to apply again. I made that mistake last year... good luck guys!!

Honestly guys they’re making it so hard to get into nursing programs these days, so don’t feel too bad if you are an alternate. I’ve applied to countless bachelor programs over the last three semesters and decided I was tired of waiting, and decided to just do my RN and then bridge afterward. I was trying to look up the class size but I don’t know how many people they’re accepting. I do know from calling other universities over the past year that they said there just aren’t as many instructors to compensate the amount of nursing students applying, so that’s why they’re being so strict and whatnot. I’ve spent a lot of time doubting myself, so I just thought sharing this might make someone else feel better. All I can say is keep trying, and I hope spots open up for you guys! ?

I'm turning my application in tomorrow morning! When I first took my TEAS I thought I did okay but now I'm super nervous lol I was in a program in San Antonio that I had to leave and I didn't have to take the TEAS to get in so I'm super scared that I might be a little bit dumb and not get into this program because of this test.

Blinn ADN does weigh heavily on the TEAS it sucks. I hate that test but I’ve taken it 3 times. It’s not an easy one. Don’t think you are dumb. If you didn’t get a score that’s good enough to get in keep trying.

Thanks for creating this thread! I also got accepted into the Blinn ADN for fall 2019. I was told they accepted around 50 students, but I do not know about the alternates list. Every acceptance is a provisional one since the requirements have to be done before the start of the semester, so there is always a good chance some of the alternates will be called.

So I finally received my acceptance letter for the LVN program last week. Yay!! I’m excited. My question is have any of the alternates for the ADN program heard any news yet?? The letter of intent deadline is this Friday I think.. my guess is we’ll start hearing something after then?? Maybe?? Has anyone on alternate list heard anything??

This alternate hasn't. I sent them an email last week. I asked when the alternates would know if a position opened. They haven't responded.

Hey ya'll! I think I'm under a different user name because I couldn't remember my password for the Breezy account lol but I'm the one who made this thread. Hopefully those of you who haven't heard back will hear back this week since the letter of intent was due Friday! I'm crossing my fingers for you guys!!!
