Blinn Nursing Fall 2019

I saw there wasn’t a thread created for the Fall 2019 Blinn Nursing!! So I made one! I just got my acceptance on Friday so if anyone else got accepted, I would love to get connected! :))

I also got my acceptance on Friday! I currently live on the outskirts of Austin so if anyone needs an extra roommate or has any recommendations on apartments, let me know!

So excited!! I live close to Galveston so I’ll be making a move too! I’m going to make a groupme rn!

Thanks for making this thread. This program is going to kill me. I was accepted as an alternate for the fall but they won’t give me any other info regarding how many alternates they have selected and where I am on the list. This is my third time applying to this program. I just want to know what my chances are at actually getting a seat before August.

Hey yall! I was also accepted as an alternate. I wonder how many alternates does Blinn average every semester.

I was also accepted as an alternate for the fall. I am not sure how many they have per semester. I asked them where I was on list, and they said they were not able to disclose that information.

I will say this, though. A friend of mine that I took micro with last semester applied to start this semester, Spring 2019. He was initiallly offered conditional admittance for the Fall 2019 semester and he accepted it. A spot opened the Friday a week before classes began this spring, they called him, he accepted the spot, and is in nursing school at Blinn now.

Therefore, idk how long the list is but there is obviously hope since the contacted my friend at the last minute last semester.

I sent an email as well asking about how many are on the list and what my rank is. No info. But.. she did say that if a seat doesn’t come up before fall starts I’d get conditional acceptance for spring 2020. I’m just tired of waiting and I’ve also applied to their LVN program as well just in case. But idk what to do now. I’m sure I’ll get into LVN but I’d rather do the ADN program of course. This sucks ***. I’m just tired of waiting. It’s killing me.

Oh wow! I know he was excited to get that call! I guess the good thing about being an alternate is having a guaranteed seat the following semester.

I know exactly how you feel. I was thinking about applying to the lvn program because I'm just ready to get started. But I'm stuck between if I actually want to wait til January or get started in the fall. At least if I get started on the lvn, I'll technically still graduate on time with my rn if I do the transition program.

Yessss... you feel me!! But at the same time.. I’d rather just go for the rn to begin with. I’ll be taking less hours because I’m pretty much done with the degree plan except for the actual nursing courses and clinicals. I think I’m down to 32 hours.. over 2 years. It will be a breeze compared to starting over w LVN courses. Lvn is having a meeting tomorrow to talk about the transition. Maybe it will help me make a better choice. I’m really happy I at least got on the alternate list but this feels like torture.
