Perhaps you could give us an example of the blacklisting you are asking about?
Sure. Another facility calls the HR department (in the same Health system) asking the dates of employment. The HR department pretty much slanders the employee by defamation of character, preventing further job oppurtunities. It is ok if this HR person does not like this person, but statements such as "we don't want that nurse back here" is going in the direction of ill intent and slander. Maybe "she" does not want this nurse back, but not EVERYONE has a problem.

Yeah um Nevermind. No reason to break TOS by doling out advice of the legal nature.

Phew!!! That was close.
StanleyRW, you're awesome! I love the self-moderation! PUT me out of a "job!!!"
To the OP:
Why not have the new place of employment contact your manager directly, r/t HR? (unless of course that bridge has been burned too)
It sounds like there are specific work-related issues that you haven't mentioned that have affected HR's perception of you.
1) If there are no work-performance issues, and it's pure slander, contact an attorney. (Don't ask here on AN, we can't give legal advice) http://www.taana.org/
2) If there are work-performance issues, you need to address those personally with your manager.
3) OR you can mention your situation to potential employers on the off-chance that they will believe you and not contact your previous employer.
Other then that, that's all the advice I can offer.
No More comments needed. Thanks for your response..................
