BIDMC- interview

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Published

I have an interview at BI Monday. I have done research on what the interview entails and just about everyone says the NM asks '5 standard HIPAA and pt safety questions they absolutely have to ask'.... ??

Can anyone give me insight on what to expect during this interview?

Thank you!!:nailbiting:

hello!

I know you have already had your interview by now. I actually graduated in May and had an interview at BI a few weeks ago. I found out Thursday I got the job. I hope your interview went well!! :)

Thanks for replying!! Congrats on getting the job! My interview went well and they requested references a few hours after my interview so fingers crossed I get it! I find out this week hopefully! They interviewed a lot of candidates and I was interviewed first so I'm going crazy with anticipation here haha!

thank you!! That's a good sign that they asked for your references :) did you interview for one of the entry level positions or have you worked as a nurse before? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Thank you so much!! It was an entry level position for clinical nurse I. I hope I get it, waiting is so hard!!

That's what I interviewed for too. It's so hard to find a job around here for new nurses! I hope you get it, keep me posted :) !

Specializes in Neuro/NSGY, critical care, med/stroke/tele.

I saw the couple of CN-I positions up at BIDMC! Can't apply yet (NCLEX in December, one more semester to go..!), but good to hear of people going in and being successful!!

good luck with your upcoming semester and NCLEX!! :) I graduated in May with just over 100 people and only about 10-15 have jobs so far!

Thanks!! Oh gosh, those are scary stats, heh. I'm actually on MCPHS' Manchester NH campus so definitely NO stranger to a commute (and reverse commute/off hours is actually not bad at all). My one clinical placement in MA so far has been in Brookline, but really I'd be okay with anything between here and southern NH just to get a "foot in the door" so to speak. Our cohort is 43 right now I think.

( Of course, I say done in December but it STILL FEELS LIKE WE DON'T KNOW ANYTHING YET/JUST STARTED!! ;P )

No way, I went to the Boston campus! Not many people have taken the NCLEX from my class since Pearson Vue is like 5 weeks behind on sending out ATTs. We took the HURST during our last semester and it was great. I'm assuming you will too since the dean is the same for all campuses :)

We do have a HURST review our last 3 days (a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and then exit HESI and white coat "breakfast" (2pm  ) on the Friday of our "graduation". Ugh I hope we don't have to wait 5 weeks for the ATI, they're updating the NCLEX for 2016 and I'd really rather try and get it over with before they do..!

(Worc/Manch does actually have a -combined but- different Dean I think! Doing the accelerated/post-bac program which is great but INTENSE, eep.)

Keep us posted on the interview, too!!! sending good vibes :D

I hope you like HURST! My class found it very helpful! You should be all set with your ATT (I think it was because so many people graduate in May and they got backed up). I hope you have a great semester :)
