I just got my acceptance letter in the mail today!!
I was going totally mental with anxiety, checking this board several times a day to see when people were hearing back, compared to when they had applied and what their stats were. I was also very nervous about how I had done on the TEAS, so I wanted to post my info to help other people a little. Here are my stats:
I applied to the school January 4th, 2010. I took the TEAS January 23rd, 2010.
Previous BA degree in anthropology. I graduate in August of 2009 with a 3.46 cumulative GPA.
I took A&P I last fall, at Gateway: B
Developmental Psych: A
TEAS: 81.2% (mean national was 72.8% and the mean for the program 73.3%)
My adjusted individual scores were as follows:
Reading: 82.5%
Math: 82.2%
Science: 70%
English: 85.5%
In all my nervousness, I called two days ago and was told that I would likely hear back from the in school 4-6 weeks. Then I got my letter today, February 5th. For the record, my admissions essay was based on a CNA training course I took in the fall and I also think that having a previous BA really helped, especially in seeing past that nasty 70% in the science section of the TEAS.

no.. i had school today so i didnt have a chance but tomorrow i am. a couple weeks ago they said that all the decisions were made and that all the rest of the letters were going out together. they couldnt say either way if i was accepted or not and that i just had to wait. and its been 10 weeks since i submitted my application and they told me that it would be 6 to 8 weeks from submission. so they are late! and its driving me nuts!
GEEZ, if all the decisions have been made then what are they waiting for? It should take 2 days tops to get all the letters together and to mail them out. Doesn't make sense to me.
I KNOW!!! you can mail something to freakin flordia in 2 days! and its been a couple weeks! and if you ask they should just tell you expecially because they know! i just really hope it comes soon. i keep telling myself that i am just so i can stop thinking about it. i have been comparing myself to the others were accepted and i am pretty much the same but i just still hate not knowing!
Strange… unless perhaps they made a few changes. Well, you should definitely call tomorrow and tell them that it's been over 10 weeks. Maybe they can look in the system for you to see if the letter was mailed out yet, if you ask nicely! Let me know what they say.
Ah, ok. Well hopefully they'll arrive sometime this week before Easter. It's annoying how all these programs have different requirements. It makes the application process so difficult.
so i called and she said that the information that all the letters went out was wrong and that they still have 2 more batches of acceptance, wait list and denials they are sending and it could be 6 weeks before they are all out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i just really think that it crazy.. that would over 5 months total. i understand that they were allowing people to take the TEAS test this month but it was an admission requirement and it should have had to be done before feb. 1st. i dont think that it fair to make everyone else wait that had all the requirements before. i guess i should have applied sooner but i didnt think that was going to be allowed so i thought it would really be 6 weeks like they said not almost 20 weeks! ughh..guess i just have to wait then!
