I am soo upset right now because my friend just called me and told me about her classmate that got accepted into the weekend program but does not have all the prereqs completed. Apparently the girl applied to the day program and was told either she takes a seat into the weekend or be waitlisted for the day program. She is currently taking the remaining prereqs and will be done before the programs starts but I find this unfair! BHCC has stressed how all prereqs must be completed before applying to the weekend program so why would they allow someone who did not have them completed at the time of the application process take the seat of someone who did have them completed? If I don't get in I will personally go to the Deans office and complain about this because that is really messed up! I am sorry I just really needed to vent, I am very ****** right now!

I'd advise against that. Personally going to the Dean's office and complaining before you're even a student at the program is a great to ensure that you will NEVER be accepted to that program. Don't shoot yourself in the foot.
And "unfair" is subjective. You have no idea what the other candidate's qualifications were. School admission policies are rarely black & white, they usually leave room for discretion and look at each student individually. That person accepted to the weekend program before her pre-reqs were done may have been an excellent candidate with high SAT scores and good grades from a previous degree, which would have (rightly) led the school to believe that she will finish her pre-reqs with high grades before starting NS.

Agree with 3376.
I just want an explanation because it is not right. I can call instead of going that way I remain anonymous but they need to know folks know about this and it makes them look shady. I am sure that student had all the credentials but the bottom line is she did not meet the requirements at the time of the app process, something is fishy to me.

Honestly, they don't owe you an explanation and I see no reason that they would give you one. You could call them and ask generics such as, "in what cases would you accept a student who will finish their pre-reqs by the start of the program but not by the time they apply?". If they say none, then hang up the phone and say nothing more. Anything beyond that is idle gossip and confidential.
Yes you have a point. I guess I will leave it alone, if I don't get in I will know why. I'm just bothered by this but I'll get over it.

Life isn't fair, kid. Get over yourself. The sooner you understand this, the less frustrating life will be for you.

You do not decide what the application process is, the school does. And you have no clue what her credentials were.

Hello, caller ID! Even if you call from someone else's phone, a ridiculous, whiny request like yours may very well be remembered at the time you interview in the future, and your application will be filed in the trash can.

Thank you for the input. I've decided to leave it alone because it is not that big of a deal. I've had the whole day to think about it and it is not that serious. Besides I don't even know if I got in or not if I didn't it is what it is. I've already been accepted into a good program so at this point I cannot stress too much, though BHCC is my first choice if they don't want me there is nothing I can do. At the end of the day I just want to become a nurse so wherever I go it does not matter.
