Between the interview and waiting for a job offer

Hi everyone! It's my first time posting here! I want to get you guys' opinion on something.

So I recently went to my first interview for a L&D position. I consolidated here during my last year. Also, the two people that interviewed me, I have met before (the manager and the nurse educator).

I'd like to think that the interview went well. They were impressed at some of the stories that I've told them, and were really impressed at one of the questions that I've asked at the end of the interview. I've told them a lot of stories that pertains to my experience of working in their actual L&D unit.

In the end I've asked them when can I expect a call. They said in about 2 weeks because they have other people to interview. It's ha seven a week now. I saw 2 new job postings related to the L&D unit posted recently (I've applied for permanent part time, and the job postings were temp. Part time and full time). Also, my preceptor texted me before my interview and said that the interviewers wanted me to succeed. I also remembered talking to the manager (one of the interviewers) when I was still consolidating about working at the unit in the future, and she told me that it's actually cheaper to hire new grads who worked here before because they are cheaper to train (don't have to waste time getting oriented to the unit).

What do do you guys think? This waiting game is giving me so much stress!! I really want this job, it is my absolute dream job. @-@.

What does "It's ha seven a week now" mean? Has it been seven weeks since your interview? And why are you interviewing when you've got a preceptor? Does that mean you're working in the L & D unit now as a tech or that you're still a student doing a preceptorship?

Ah sorry, I meant to say "it has been more than a week". Stupid autocorrect >.>

For my last semester at nursing school I was placed at the L&D unit (my consolidation). I went straight into nursing school after graduating from high school so I don't have any other work experience (CNA, tech etc.), other than general labourer experience.

I graduated in June 2017, placement is over but unfortunately I didn't get hired because I didn't get my nursing license until august, and plus I was missing certifications (breastfeeding, NRP etc.). However, the L&D posted a job posting during mid-September and I applied. My preceptor (from my consolidation) is an RN at the unit for 20+ years and is very buddy-buddy with the manager. She unofficial put in a reference for me to get an interview.

I hope that clears things up a little bit. I was a bit frazzled when I typed the post and made a lot of mistakes.

Ok. That makes it more clear.

If they said two weeks, give it 2-3 weeks before you panic. Sometimes it takes longer to get cosensus from everyone who needs to sign off on a hire. Sometimes the person responsible for exrending the offer has to be off work due to illness or a death in the family. Sometimes people procrastinate or the manager has to take patients because there was a mass casualty event or four day shift nurses who were carpooling got into a crash on the way to work.

Waiting is difficult. Hang in there.

If it helps, I interviewed for my job on the 3rd of the month and did not get the call offering the position until the 25th. The waiting was horrible. Sending happy thoughts that you get good news soon.

That definitely helps. Thank you for the happy thoughts and kind words kkbb, BSN, RN. It has been exactly two weeks as of now but I still didn't receive any news. I am planning to give them until next week then making a call for an update.

Any updates? I had my interview Wednesday and I thought it went really well! They said a week and a half but then in a response to my thank you email she said within 2 weeks. I'm (secretly) freaking out! Trying to stay in the moment at my current job! Let us know!
