Bethesda Memorial - Boynton Beach, FL

Have anyone ever work at this facilty? I plan on taking an assignment here. Any info is helpful.

I used to work in the ICU at this hospital a few years ago. There was the usual politics and BS, but it wasn't a bad place to work. The place was clean and we had a decent supplies and fairly new equipment to work with in the unit. For the entire time I worked there they seemed to have a big problem with staffing and they were using quite a few travelers. I hear it has gone through quite a few changes since, and that they have converted a part of the ICU into an open heart step down unit. I ocassionally floated to ER and to Tele while I was there, didn't like either. The then director of telemetry was a very unpleasant character and most of the nurses I worked with on that floor didn't seem too thrilled to be there and turnover was high. The ER was a joke, too. there was always a problem with not having enough nurses. Of course that was all years ago. It might be very different now.

My wife is currently a traveler at Bethesda. She seems to like it okay. They are doing alot of construction on the hospital. They use alot of travelers and seem to be pretty short staffed. They aren't too free about handing out overtime shifts, but you can sign up with a local per diem agency for extra work. My wife travels with Intelistaf and they also happen to have a local per diem office. She usually works one extra shift per week and gets paid overtime at her per diem rate ($40/hr @ time and a half or $640 for one shift!). Let me know if you have any questions about the area.
