Does anyone have any information on the Beth Israel School of Nursing? I called them for information, but have been having a hard time getting through to anyone...
I actually have a few specific questions:
Is it a good program? How expensive is it?
How competitive is it to get in?
Is it more intensive than other schools because it includes the prereqs in the program?
Can you transfer prereqs into the full time program?
I have been working in another industry and saving up money to go to school. I am looking to start on my prerequisites this summer. Like many students in this forum, I'm concerned with the time it will take to finish all of the prerequisites and then deal with any applicable wait lists. It's my understanding that the full time programs (2 or 3 yr) at BI includes the prereqs in the program.
Thank you!

1. It is a very good program, from what I've heard. I go to their sister school and if I had it to do over again, I would've gone there. It is a private program, so it is a bit pricey, not sure exact numbers though, but I pay about 10K a year for where I go.
2. I did hear it is very hard to get into. Their NLN requirements are pretty tough and I think they have a waiting list, but not as long as CUNY schools.
3. In my opinion, I wouldn't consider it more challenging due to the pre-reqs being in included. They space it out pretty nicely. If you have a Bachelor's degree already, they have a program where you go to school Thurs. eves, Friday whole day and Sat whole day (Sat every other weekend). You can only enter this program in Jan. and only if you've completed all pre-reqs prior to entering.
I hope this helps a little bit. Their dean is now the dean of my school. But, I would just keep calling if you're really interested or take a trip down to the office.
Let me know how things work out.

Hi,
I believe it is not a bad program. I have my interview tomorrow for the AD course. I recommend, if you have transportation to go to the school personally rather than waiting for the aplication package. Mine never arrived and I got some misinformation that caused me a few headaches!!
On the other hand, if this happens, the student services director is great handling stuff and supporting students/potential students. She even called me on my cell to clarify the misunderstanding and all.
