best way to research jobs in OR?

U.S.A. Oregon

Published

I currently work in CA & have been trying to get a feel for the job market in either Salem, or Portland or parts between. I wrote the BRN in Oregon & was told they had links to publications that provided job advertisements from area hospitals, but I could find no such links. So I'm seeking out help here. In California we have several free publications that all RNs receive through the mail that have articles, CE opportunities & job advertisements, I'm sure there must be something similar in OR if anyone would be willing to share. :)

If it is of any help I am an NICU nurse with over 5 years experience as charge nurse, transport team & am PICC certified.

Thanks so much, Renee

Specializes in Pediatrics.

I dont know of any publications, but I am a nursing student/CNA. However the larger area hospitals in Portland are Providence, Legacy, OHSU- univesity hospital and dornbecher childrens, Kiasier, and Adventist Medical, plus Shiners childrens and the VA. Providence has mutiple hospitals in the Portland metro area. Most of the hospitals also have smaller clinicial sites as well, so if you went to each of their websites you could see what is availble. In addition you could go to http://www.oregonlive.com to the job listings it is basicalily online job classifeds. Good luck to you

Like the poster above said, check out the individual hospitals for job openings. Most of them post all openings online or just contact the RN recruiters for each facility you want to work with. Hope this helps! :clown:
