You could call them and ask about coming in and getting an app. If they perfer online they will tell you then and you won't be wasting gas money going to facilities and getting turned down. I know it can be rough sometimes. Are you just looking into LTCfacilities or are you also looking at other avenues such as home care, rehab, hospice, Vet. Homes and Hospitals, retirment homes. Just to list a few more options for you as you look for a job.
I always went to the facilities to ask to apply. I went dressed as if I might be interviewed on the spot. In a sense, the person who you speak to just may be the one who interviews...you never know! Either way, they get an impression of you right then. Some places handed me an application to fill out there, some said go online. At one home care agency, they did actually interview me right then and there.
You may have to go several times and apply several times. Where I currently work, the receptionist recognized me, saw me coming, said hello and handed me the application without my even asking! :) ....I was called the NEXT day for an interview and was hired...
Keep at it, you'll get there!!

Love it!!! That is so funny, but oh so true that these type of things makes people understand just how serious you are about wanting to work for them, and it makes YOU memerable to them when you go in for your interview

I have been applying online, but have had no luck. From your experience, has applying in person been more beneficial? If so, who should I ask to speak to when I visit the facility?
