BEST trauma shears?

Ok, here's the deal.

I was mocked by my new colleagues for having sissy trauma shears the other day. Truthfully, they were good once but have gone so dull that they could barely cut a bubba lady's panties and corset. So where could I order some freakin' macho trauma shears?

It came up fine for me, so here are the distributors that were listed:

Progressive Medical International

Item #68017 PMI - Progressive Medical International: EMS Supplies, Medical Equipment, Medical Supplies, AEDs, defibrillators & patient monitors

Global Supply Solutions

GSSgear.com - Global Supply Solutions

That's all that was listed. Hope that helps.

I will not pay more than 20$ for anything I use to cut someone's clothes off in the ER. Like a couple of other posters here my AVELOX shears have been great and I have 3 pairs of them for free. :)

I think that this raises a good question. I have worked both in the field and the ER and sometimes both at the same time. (Ha-ha) I prefer the Big Shears that were mentioned earlier. I have paid for my fair share of shears and also have been through a million of the free ones, but the Big Shears are by far THE best. I do admit when it comes to bandage shears the standard RN shears are great. When it comes time to get to business.... and cut a bubba's bra off or that transient comes in with 76 layers of clothes....my bet is and always will be Big Shears.

One downfall....a little pricey..

Just my little humble new guy opinion.
