Hi,
I'm trying to find out the best thermometer to use with neonates, tempadots can be quite reliable at times and digital ones are hard to calibrate. We currently use a 'Welch Allyn' electronic thermometer paediatrics, but there is little evidence for use in neonates. Any ideas anyone???

Temporal artery thermometers have been off as much as 3-4 degrees at my hospital. I wrote to the company and they had no suggestions. I would trust them to tell me if a child had a temp or not, and then recheck recatlly or orally. Pretty much feeling a forehead with my hand has been of more use.
