I finished nursing school in Germany about 10 years ago and now I finally got my RN in California. I've been looking for jobs ever since I got the "good pop up". There is nothing out there and I'm definitely not picky! Didn't even got a respond from long term facilities, hospices, home health care, agencys... I'm in San Diego and if you don't speak Spanish, then your chances are even slimmer in finding a job. My husband is in the military and we most likely move again next year. Even though he doesn't get to say where he wants to go, we can always try and push it in the right direction. My question is, which State would be best for me to find work in? I do not have any work experience in the US, but I have 2 years of medical ICU under my belt. The problem is, that was 7 years ago. Any advice on where to go or what else I can do with an RN license?
Middle of state. Im near Burlington, look in Thomasville, Salisbury, and western NC, look to the smaller cities. You might have a commute, many of those I work with live in Winston Salem or Greensboro. I just got a place near work. $400-500 for 2 bedrooms is about average.
Moses Cone, Wake and Duke are looking too, but with them BSN's have a real advantage for Magnet status.
