Best review for CCRN?

Hey guys,

I'm finally starting the process to get my CCRN and I was looking for suggestions on what people recommend as the best study resources. A coworker recommended the Barron's book, which I purchased. Have people had success with that book or do you recommend anything else? Thanks!

I just took the CCRN on Thursday and passed! I would definitely recommend Barron's CCRN prep. I swear by it to my coworkers wanting to take it. I studied through that and did the full length practice exams in the back. I found that the Barron's practice exams were on par with, and actually a tad more difficult at times, than the actual CCRN exam. Early on in my prep I watched the Laura Gasparis videos..super entertaining but not very in depth. You could get by with just the book. Good luck!

I actually just wrote a whole article about the best resources for the CCRN.

My top 5 were:

1. Critical Care Nursing made incredibly easy

2. Laura gasparis question book

3. Pass CCRN! Online Question Bank Only

4. Barrons

5. Laura's DVDs

Good Luck to you on passing the CCRN!

Laura Gasparis DVDs. You will learn and laugh at the same time. Her DVDs are great!

I liked the AACN review course and the Barron book. the AACN course is very dry but helps so much.

Are the Youtube videos comparable to the DVDs as far as the content?

Regarding the Laura Gasparis videos?

Yes and no.

Some of those are outdated.

These are the two that I bought and will start studying in a few weeks.

Is the CCRN Pocket Prep app ($30) worth the price for the mobile question bank and ability to create custom practice tests?

I would like to know this as well. I have attended the one day CRAM session of Vonfrolio, and have her book. I like the IDEA of having the audio content because I run and like to fill those times with something educational. However, I don't want to pay $150 for it. (I'm sure it's worth it.... is there not ANY PLACE where we can find this to rent/used/cheaper?)
