Best Paying Hospital in Phoenix

Published

Hello Everyone

I am new to this site. But I am currently working in LTC and have 1 year of nursing experience and 8 months working at my current job. I do like my job, but I wanna work 12 hour shifts and not 8 hour shifts. I was working double weekends but my facility has eliminated the double weekend schedule. I want to change to the hospital setting but I am looking for opinions on the best paying hospital to work for in phoenix, so that it is similar to what I make now. Any advice would be helpful.

here is a list of hospital rankings Best Hospitals in Arizona - US News Best Hospitals I can tell you Banner Good Samaritan implements a lot of evidence based practice, offers good benefits, and was voted #1 2012 and for some reason #5 in 2013. If you like the long term care setting but want a full time position I know John C Lincoln North Mountain has a new surgical specialty care unit which looks and feel more comfortable like a hotel for orthopedic, nuero, spine, urology surgery patients. Specialty Surgical Care at John C Lincoln North Mountain Hospital. I am not expert but I can only assume that you should look for a nursing specialty that fits your desire and something you feel you want to learn and excel at whether it be critical care, psychiatric, pediatrics, neonatal, emergency, geriatrics, medical surgical, oncology, etc. Find the type of nursing you want to pursue and then look for a job that offers the training and enriching environment for your transition from long term care. If you want to create your own schedule look into home care they tend to be accommodating. Working for a paycheck makes it work.. working in a specialty you love makes it joyful and meaningful work. Good LUCK!! Idk know the going rate for an experienced RN. I know that most places were paying $25 hr/ new grad and $27 for night shift. My first job as home care paid $30 an hour and it wasn't a hospital.

I am also a new grad and frustrated with the lack of positions for new grads. I have been considering home health for a while, but am nervous about being in a situation where I need help and am by myself. Would you mind sharing what your experience was like in home care, and which companies offer the best training/support? Thank you.

Here is a list of home health that hires New grads I can think of off the top of my head...
