I am wanting to go back to nursing school for my RN, and I am needing to

get some feedback on which online school to apply to. Please Help!! Any

comments are appreciated:)

I haven't heard of any online program that doesn't require some presence at the facility. Start your search close to home. You could probably get some good suggestions from colleagues who've done (or plan to do) the same thing.

I attended Excelsior College for my LPN-RN bridge; and RN-BSN program. I was not required to go to a facility during the course of the program except to do the final 3-day clinical examination for the ASN. Otherwise, it was 100% online, and it is only for the highly motivated, as your success will depend on how committed you are to completing the program. Depending on your Board of Nursing, there may be additional provisions to take into consideration if you should decide on this program. As with any program, do your research to make sure you know all that it entails before signing on the dotted line. Online learning is not as easy as people think it is. There is no one to make you study. EC has wonderful academic advisors. But when you hang up the phone with them, it's all on you. If you goof off, nobody is going to care about it but you...and like-minded peers (which I highly recommend you seek for continued motivation). If you're not dedicated to developing a strict study routine and adhering to it no matter what, you will become your own worst enemy.

I was an older student who required more preparation time to grasp the material than these younger folks:brb:. Although I completed the program in under a year back then, it took up a lot of my time each day in comparison to an actual classroom. I needed to be in the books from early morning until early nightfall; that hour and 15 minutes that the physical classroom offered was not nearly enough for me. So this self-paced environment was solid gold and just what I needed:yes:. I cannot compare EC to other online bridge programs because I never attended any other LPN-RN bridge. And if I had it to do over again, my choice would still be the same. They had everything I needed and did not require some of the courses I was trying to avoid...back then (2009). Good luck in your search and your decision!
