Best oncology resource for new oncology nurse?

I have been working for about a year and a half as an RN on a med/surg floor but have just accepted a full time position in an outpatient oncology center! I have basically no experience with oncology nursing however. What resources have other oncology nurses used/heard of that would be helpful for me to use as a resource as I make my transition into this field of nursing?? Thanks!!

A bit curious about this. It must be hard trying to learn all the chemo meds patients might be on, even if you don't necessarily give them right away when you start the job.

I highly recommend resources from the Oncology Nursing Society. I have been a member for many years. It's a great organization & I have forged many great friendships by membership. Here is a link to a "Nurse Orientation" bundle of online courses.

Another great publication is called Oncology Nursing News. As as example, here is a recent article from a column called "Fast Facts for the Frontline" I like this column for staying in touch with new information.

Congratulations on your new role! I have been in the oncology nursing field for most of my career...I love it! Carol
