I am a new grad who is looking to start my career in emergency nursing. (If anyone in the Bay
Area knows of an opening please contact me). I am looking for a single book that focuses on emergency nursing to buy that makes a
good foundation to begin my post school learning. All suggestions would be helpful, thanks for
taking the time

Hi Gabe,
Congratulations!! I work in NYC, cant help you with a job referral. About a good source for Emergency Nursing, a great book is Emergency Nursing, Core Curriculum 6th Ed. This book is written by the Emergency Nurses Association. I highly recommend you join ENA. It's a small association fee, it includes their journal and news letter. And you will receive discounts for future purchases on books after you join.
The best of luck.

So for anyone who is looking for an ED book i have just bought two, and here are my thoughts.
The Emergency Nursing, Core Curriculum 6th Ed. Written by the Emergency Nurses Association.- this book is huge, it has mostly in depth flow charts, and i'm sure works better if used as you are talking a class. i think it is hard to get a full understanding just by reading, and i would find it more useful in the clinical setting.
I also just got Sheehy's Manual of Emergency Care. This book ROCKS. personally if i was just going to get one, this would be it! it goes into more information as to WHY you are doing what you are doing.
i hope others can find this information helpful.
