Best Boston hospital for CNA??

U.S.A. Massachusetts

I have 3 upcoming interviews @ 3 Boston Hospitals, and just wondering if anyone had insight on better ones to work at. Pay, experience, room for growth, flexibility (I'm in school)?? They're all per diem positions, but I'd like to get my foot in the door somewhere in town

Hi,

I was trying to reply to your private message but I can't for some reason. At BI, the orientation starts when you get the position, not at certain times of the year. It is 12 weeks long and they told me the first 8 is with a preceptor, the last 4 is more on your own but you still have another nurse with you!

about your post above: I just graduated in May from nursing school and Boston and a lot of people in my class were CNAs at BI and MGH during school. I wish I worked as a CNA during school but I didn't. I've heard good things from the people who worked at both of those hospitals. good luck!! :)

I currently work at a boston hospital and my friends work at other hospitals in Boston.

MGH- great experience but doesn't hire new grads once you graduate, or they put you in a terrible RN residency program paying less than a CNA...

Brigham- great place, hires new grads, union hospital

BI- great place, hires new grads

Brigham is a union hospital so better pay for RNs

BI you get to go to the Red Sox games with your hospital badge and get two tickets for $5 each, which is always a plus :)

Go to all the interviews and see which one you like the best, good luck!

That residency program is for the ICUs. MGH hires new grads, many of the girls I graduated with were hired as new grads there.
