The only app I have found that I use on a fairly regular basis is Epocrates. It sure beats making drug cards for clinical or caring around a drug book! :) The free version has all the drug information you will ever need and also allows you to do a pill ID and check drug interactions.
I bought a medical dictionary and I have never touched it.
I have a Droid X.
For Android:
Skyscape and its app RxDrugs and OCM (outlines of clinical medicine) these are free
Voice Recorder (free)
Mini-Nurse Light (don't use much)
Epocrates (don't use much)
Nurses Pocket Drug Guide. Its nice while free, but after you have to pay, it still wil ldisplay a random drug with basic info as a widget, good for learning.
I don't have a Droid, but I have a iPhone. I downloaded epocrates but soon deleted it.. I like Medscape much better. If Droid offers it, check it out... It's free!
I also have a virtual flashcard app (Flashcardlet), a grade tracker, Evernote, and Dropbox. I also find FailApp (from the fail blog) to be s huge source of stress relief when studying for long stretches.
Epocrates is my favorite, SO much easier than shuffling through books. Color Password is another app I LOVE! With so many usernames and passwords to keep track of, I just lock them away in that app. Last but not least, I use Flashcards Deluxe, and love it. Also, "LabGear Medical Lab Tests, Differentials, Symptoms & More" by Med Gears. Just search for "lab gear" or "lab values", and it should be the first option.
They are amazing, and I couldn't see going without them. HOWEVER these are Apple apps for iPod, iPhone, and iPad. Not sure about the Droid.

Ha! I've got Medscape but it's buried away in the files. I'm not that impressed with it, plus I don't have a lot of need for disease and procedure explanations. I have ePocrates on the home screen.

Hello! I'm currently a pre-nursing student @ WGTC. I have submitted my paperwork and am waiting patiently to find out if I will start the RN program in January! I am pretty confident with my scores; therefore, I am wanting to start buying supplies and preparing!
I was thinking about purchasing a pda to use for the program, but I have a droid incredible, so I am able to buy and download apps on my phone just like I could on a pda.
If you have any suggestions on apps from a pda or android that helped you through nursing school or as a nurse now, please reply and help me out! I'd rather have a good medical dictionary, drug guide, etc in my pocket instead of carrying around a huge book!
Thanks for the suggestions!!
