Hi!
I would like to know what's the best apartment that's near University medical Center in Tucson? Help!

You can go to Forrent.com and Apartmentguide.com and search by zip code. A good residential area close to UMC in the area north. That zip code is 85718. I'd look at apartments on or north of River Rd. A couple of good areas are some parts of River Rd. & Campbell Rd. area, and River and Sunrise Rd. area is very good. You can find apartments a bit closer to UMC centrally located but the areas are patchy as far as high crime. Good luck.
Thank you multicollinarity!:)
Sure! Actually there are some wonderful places to live in central Tucson. I just think they are kind of hard to find via internet from another country like you are doing.
Good luck and welcome.

I lived 5 miles from UMC at Camp Lowell and Swan in Summerlin Villas. Great place, a bit pricey but worth it. Quiet, clean, safe. jogging/bike trail in back, good workout center, gated, alarms, two pools. Tucson, like Phoenix, is odd. There are expensive places next to absolute dumps, but the area between Craycroft and the Tucson Mall area along River is nice.

Hey, another Tucson person here! I've felt so alone on these boards... (except for multicollinarity and ms mimi) ...
Camp Lowell and Swan (right near a fav restaurant of mine, BTW). That's a nice area. You're totally right, Tucson can have a 1/2 million dollar home within a block or two of an absolute dump! Weird!
Hi again!
Any idea about the following apartments?
1. Winterhaven Terrace Apartments at Fort Lowell
2. Altamira Apartments at East River Road
3. Redondo Tower at West Paseo Redondo
4. St. Phillip's Corner at North Campbell
5. LA Entrada Apartments at North Granada Avenue
6. FoxPoint Apartments at North Campbell
I will value any idea or suggestion youll be sharing with me. Thanks in advance!:)

It's so hard for me to say because what I may like you may not. Also, I don't know what your threshold for 'niceness' is for apartments. I don't know how much you want to spend either.
I'll try though.
1) I'm not familiar with this one
2) I think they are overpriced for how nice (or not nice) they are
3) I'm not familiar with this one
4) Looks like maybe a crime-ridden apartment complex
5) I'm not familiar with this one
6) Ok place. Right in the city. You might get a better deal/nicer apartment on River Rd.
For many years I lived at Rio Cancion apartments. They are on River Rd. just east of Campbell Rd. I loved it there. I wished they would have converted to condos. You might want to check them out. Also on River Rd, and less expensive than Rio Cancion is Hacienda Del Rio Apartments. Colonia Del Rio Apartments is part of the same large apartment compex. One is less expensive than the other. I don't remember which one. This one tends to be a good deal and in a nice area.
This is really hard because I don't know your tastes or priorities you know? Good luck!
Actually,I'm bringing my family with me(my husband and two kids). My priority when looking for an apartment is a safe neighborhood.Since I'm going to be working at UMC,I also would like a place that's near it. I have looked into Rio Cancion's website and I am pleased to see such good amenities. Is it really just 7 minutes away from UMC? I got the info from Yahoo maps.Their two bedroom apartment is just right for a family of four.
Thank you again for the first hand info multicollinarity! :)
I rented the two bedroom apartment at Rio Cancion for years. It's a great apartment because it's on the second floor and there's no apartment above or below you (unusual). Below you on the first floor is the covered parking for all the residents. Less noise from your neighbors this way. Rio Cancion's 2 bedroom is a much larger apartment than the other apartments you listed. Also, the master bedroom is HUGE. The only downside is that the 2nd bedroom is right next to the master bedroom.
The area is good. The area further north is even better but it just get's so very very pricy further north. For my taste, the area around Rio Cancion is good.
I think it is probably 10-15 minutes to UMC depending on how the traffic is.
I had surgery at UMC this week. My posts are a little luny loopy because I'm still on vicodin. I am so impressed with UMC. I've had surgery at a few places and I just think UMC is tops. UMC is part of University Physicians which is an excellent group. I especially loved my nurses.
Thankfully with the nurse to patient ratios, patients seem to be able to get the care they need for the most part at UMC. So anyway, FYI it is a great hospital you are going to.
Get well soon multicollinarity! And thank you again for that great news about UMC.Makes me want to pull the dates on my calendar so that I'll be there already. Can't wait to check it out esp. their med-surg'l wing and the nurse-patient ratios.
