Bergen Community 2015 Day Program

Published

I just recently applied for Bergen Community's Day Program for the fall. I know it is so early but i am going nuts just waiting for them to start reviewing applications. So i figured I'd start a thread to see who will also be applying!

Good luck to everyone :)

Well that's definitely a relief. Seeing as we have a lot of expenses to cover already, I'm glad that's all it should be😃

That's great that you're an LPN! You must have a ton of experience

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.
I have to figure out the whole insurance business too. I'm an LPN and carry my own professional insurance. I have to see if I need two policies, or the one I carry already is already sufficient. I know mine was about 100$. You're probably right about the 50$

If you have NSO they will add RN student coverage rider for free if you call them.

Oh awesome! Thanks for the info!

For anyone who's wondering: the with nso was $38 and change

I just had my CPR class today and so glad to knock that off my list. Aside from the return demonstration you'll have 25 multiple questions. Each worth 4 points and you'll need 84 to pass. Less stress/AHA.

I too completed my cpr certification last week and it was such a great class. We're getting closer and closer to orientation! Can't wait😁

Does anyone have a list of the required textbooks for level one??? I just want to have an idea how much I'll be spending and also start my reading early.

From what I read in the packet we got, they will tell us at orientation. They may not always change books from year to year, so if you know someone who is already in they may be able to tell you. Unfortunately, I can't imagine any book less than 40-50$. 😔

@Mel, yeah I was hoping someone from here who might have a list or anyone reading this that are in level 1 can provide it.

I read this in a previous post by yoonjmp "I spend $475.91 on all of the books except for the optional ones.

2 books (assesment), 2 books (Pharmacology/Math), 4 books (Concepts), 1 book (Nursing care plan)

I skipped the optional ones because it seemed like a book focused on critical thinking and fundamentals. Although it can be very useful, I will hold off on it.

There are 5 optional books total. If you bought all of them, it would come out too $153.35

Soooooo, if I bought every single book on the list including the optional ones, the total will come out toooooooo....... a whopping $629.26 and that is quite a chunk of money. Even with financial aid and loans."
