Last Thursday I was at the college for the purpose of collecting my Chemistry grade with some classmates. Apparently, there was a graduation ceremony for RN's going on that night as well, and my friends started talking to one student to ask her about the program. I didn't hear the entire conversation, but one of my cohorts told me the student had stated that ELEVEN people had failed out of NUR-181 alone during her course!
Now, there's always a chance there was some sort of misunderstanding or miscommunication, but does this sound right? For what it's worth, I would think the application process and competitiveness of getting in to the program would assure a strong student population, so it makes me nervous to hear these things. I already received some insight from someone privately, but I was wondering what the public population made of this info.
Thanks!
UKgirl7655... u have the right spirit about imagining yourself in the program and you will be...I, like many of you bcc nursing hopefuls received my letter in march and was told i had to take it in the middle of april, had no time to study and only scored an 80.13% but lets cross our fingers and pray we get in!!! Also to Fisherman...I have been reading your notes and you offer great advice all the time!!!
Haha, well of course I have to do the CPR class, silly! I meant like, for an overall summer experience to lead into the Nursing courses...I want to start getting into the field so I can be at least minorly familiar with the setting...you know? Tomorrow I think I am going to call up some hospitals in my area and see if they want a volunteer. My sister-in-law did this while in high school, so I can not see this as being an issue...:)
hey guys... good thing fisherman gave us the scoop, because i just checkout out the registration again and all of the spots are filled already! If he hadn't told us, i would have been like, ummm what??
Anyway, I am changing my username on here just so you guys know to something else----- so it will still be me on a diff. name

Yeah, it really isn't fair. Some students only having 1 week - 2 weeks (you and I and countless others I'm sure) and other students have 2 months....I'd love to know how they came to go about it that way. And if they think that is fair then I think they should also take that into consideration when looking at the scores -- if you and I both scored above 85% then I think that should be regarded as highly as someone scoring a 95% that took the exam in late May....but I doubt they will do that for us! LOL!!!
I'm nervous too =*( But I am trying not to think about it...nothing can be done at this point except the law of attraction -- imagine yourself already accepted and you will be ;-) Well, at least I'm trying!!!
