Bellevue College 2015-2017 Nursing Hopefuls

Published

I thought I would start this thread so we can exchange information and experiences while applying to the Bellevue College nursing program! I saw that forums have been created for previous years and have been helpful for those applying!

Hello! I am hoping to get into the nursing program at Bellevue this year. It has been a wild ride so far. I started my prerequisites shortly after my 2nd daughter was born, and I have loved every minute of it. My family thought I was a little crazy when they overheard me memorizing bones and muscles while doing laundry in the laundry room, but they got used to my crazy study habits. How did you all like the Teas? I took them twice, and it shot my nerves. When I finally ended up with a 90, I broke into tears in the testing room. I am so relieved that is all over. Anyways, I am so excited for the fun to start.

Hoping for BC Fall quarter... It's going to be a long few months!

Are you hoping to do full time or part time?

I applied for full time. I kind of want to start winter quarter because I have yet to do my cna cert. I am still getting my hep. B shots :(

Just finished my CNA, and am also still getting Hep B as well. She did say in the info session that she would like to see at least one done with application, but that we had time to finish it before clinical would start.

I applied for fall full time. I'd be happy just to get into winter though. Does anyone know what the average TEAS scores were for students that got accepted last year?

That's a really good score. Congrats!

Hi all,

I'm in my second quarter of the nursing program at BC. I know that I had an 86.7 TEAs score and was originally admitted to the Winter Quarter, but ended up taking a spot in the Fall Quarter. I know someone who was on the waitlist with an 80 (I think, don't quote me), and she was offered a spot in winter quarter, I think in late November. So don't lose hope if you have a lower TEAs score! :)

Good luck to everyone!

Any suggestions for getting through A&P what I am doing is not cutting it. Any teacher recommendations for A&Part and micro bio?

Who is your teacher currently? I highly recommend Jim Ellinger for A&P. He's hard but worth it. Diane Mauldin is a great Microbiology teacher and she's also difficult. Both teachers have a reputation for preparing students best for their nursing programs.

I took both A&P from Ellinger with Jesse, as well as Microbiology with Mauldin. Ellinger is an amazing teacher, but he has very high expectations. Be prepared to work your butt off...but you will be so glad you took it from him because you will be equipped with the tools you need for nursing school!
